First New Jersey wedding of 2018!
Kara and I met years ago, and I was thrilled when she asked me to be her hair stylist on her wedding day!
When I first did Kara’s hair at her trial, I asked her to describe the vibe and feel of her wedding. Even if a bride doesn’t have those ‘buzzwords’ already in mind, I can get a feel for her style just by hearing how she describes her dress, table details, and flowers. Kara’s wedding to the love of her life, Kevin, was the textbook definition of classic! Don’t mistake ‘classic’ for ‘simple.’ Some brides want their love to be the most obvious detail of the day, instead of over-the-top hair or a super embellished dress.
Spending the morning with Kara and her closest friends was a blast! I had the pleasure of doing her mom and stepmom’s hair as well. Everyone was so calm and simply enjoying the day! The laughter almost drowned out the awesome 2000’s jams that were keeping everyone amped. I had the best time getting to know everyone and their styles. While no one wanted to exactly match anyone else, we ended up with two maids sporting side-swept styles, a couple braids, and some loose waves. Altogether, it was a very cohesive bunch! I love when groups look good together, without doing the exact same style on everyone!
Kara was beaming all day long. And can I just say that I LOVE a bride in glasses?? Kara is always true to herself, and she’s such a creative person. The table numbers at the reception were numbers that actually mean something to her and Kevin, like the age she was when they met, or how long they’ve been together. Kara’s two brothers performed the ceremony. Their cake had Batman’s bat-signal hidden on the back! I love a bride who knows how to add a personal touch to the details of the day.
Kara, thank you for letting me be a part of your big day!
